The Event:

The 6th annual Runaway Pumpkin Half Marathon & 8K located at Cheadle Lake Park in Lebanon, Oregon will take runners and walkers on an out-and-back loop course that unfolds along the banks of the Santiam River, giving participants a chance to run along either side of the river and make a pair of bridge crossings before heading back in to the race finish line. New this year is the 8K portion of the event which also provides runners and walkers with a serene, countryside experience. The beautiful Santiam River meanders along part of the 8K route. Runners and walkers (as well as volunteers, sponsors, and spectators) who participate in the race help to support a worthy local cause, as 100% of the race proceeds and sponsorship gifts are donated to ABC House, a Child Abuse Assessment Center. ABC House is a locally-based non-profit that handles as many as 700 cases of child abuse and neglect each year in Benton and Linn Counties.

If you are a organization or business that would like to increase your awareness in a highly desirable demographic group, consider becoming a Runaway Pumpkin sponsor. We have small and large sponsorships and the sponsorship benefits are based upon your level of participation.

Ways to be involved:

The board, staff and volunteers of ABC House are excited to invite you to be part of our Sixth Annual Runaway Pumpkin Half Marathon & 8K, a multi-distance race event to benefit ABC House: The Child Abuse Intervention Center serving Benton and Linn Counties.

As a Sponsor of the Runaway Pumpkin Half Marathon & 8K you will receive publicity based on your level of sponsorship.  You have the opportunity to be recognized in printed materials, event website, Facebook posts, newsletter entries, in goodie bags, on signage, and banners the day of the race.

Vendor space is available to distribute company materials and/or have an activity for race attendees. Your company name may be printed on our popular race shirts which will give you year-round recognition and exposure.

There are several ways you and your organization can be involved:

  1. Cash Sponsorship Underwriting — There are many expenses related to this event-shirts, medals, bibs, banners, food, finish line services, awards, etc. Your response is needed quickly as we are currently creating all of the publicity materials for the event and want to put your name or logo on them.
  2. In-Kind Sponsor — In many cases, the items needed for this event are tangible and can be donated. If you provide in-kind items, we will recognize your business at the level of the cash value.
  3. Goodie Bag Items (1,000 each) — Our goal is to have this race be known as one of the best the runners have ever participated in. One way is to provide a goodie bag filled with giveaway items and special value coupons. The giveaways and coupons inside the bag provide a value-added benefit to participants and create more exposure for companies who offer them. Trade show items such as lip balm, band-aids, note pads, hand sanitizers, lanyards, mouse pads, jar openers, etc with your company’s name on them are ideal. (Only one type of item per bag.)
