WEATHER UPDATE as of 12:26pm 10/14/16:
Update from Runaway Pumpkin Central:
As many of you know, we are expecting rainy weather, high winds, and cold temperatures at our race tomorrow morning. At this point, Runaway Pumpkin is still on so please plan on dressing accordingly.
Race officials are constantly monitoring the forecast, including the national weather service, to determine what is the safest option for tomorrow.
Our primary concern is the safety of participants, volunteers, spectators, and sponsors. We also want to do our best to ensure a good time is had by all and that includes staying out of harms way.
Should we need to delay the start time or cancel the race, an email will be sent to all participants immediately. Updates will also be posted on the Runaway Pumpkin website runawaypumpkinhalf.org and on our social media pages.
One of the things we love about Oregon is the unpredictable fall weather, and hopefully it works out in our favor tomorrow so everyone can have a great time.
Thank you for your understanding and support of ABC House!
Runaway Pumpkin Half Marathon and 8K is fun for everyone! Runners and walkers add to the festive atmosphere by dressing in costumes. Rain or shine, this is an event that you don’t want to miss.
Held at beautiful Cheadle Lake Park in Lebanon, Oregon, the race’s start and finish lines are located inside the Park off Weirich Drive.
Each Half Marathon participant receives a nifty tech shirt, a reusable goodie bag filled with gifts and coupons, a coupon to the beer garden (if participant is over 21 years of age) and a finisher’s medal. 8K participants receive the same awesome tech shirt, a beer garden coupon, and a bag to stock up on all the cool vendor giveaways at the start of this year’s race.
Friends and family are encouraged to come out to Cheadle Lake Park and cheer on the runners and walkers.
100% of the event’s proceeds go to ABC House; the Child Abuse Intervention Center serving abused and neglected children in Benton and Linn Counties.
